Working on clock towers and tall buildings gets my vote as the top daredevil in Work Hard, Play Hard.

The Bosch Daredevil Work Hard, Play Hard contest grand prize winner is that wall walker from Arvada, Colo., Dutch. What’s not to like about a guy who spends his time working brick 10 or 20 stories up? It’s all in the wrist.

I want to thank all of our daredevils for submissions that ranged from the conventional to the bizarre. Bizarre is good. Although phase one of Work Hard, Play Hard is closed, we’re not closed for business. Beginning September 14, 2011, one winner a week will get a Daredevil T-shirt (which is dynamite), a Bosch Daredevil spade bit set or a Bosch Daredevil framing blade. But that’s just for starters – look for a bigger contest in November. OK daredevils, get the cameras out.

This really is crazy. Is there a safety harness on this rig?

Working my way across a canyon using two wires is not my idea of a good time, but Elizabeth here from Tualatin, Ore., seems to get a kick out of it. And that makes her the week four winner of the Daredevil Work Hard, Play Hard contest. As she mentions in her entry, she made it across the void by “force of will.” That’s the spirit of the Daredevil – you know it’s a step beyond the norm, a push beyond the day-to-day, but you’re going to do it anyway. She takes away our combo Bosch power tool and accessory package, and Blaklader work wear prizes. Keep checking back at the contest page to see what’s new.
